Southern Buildworks is a small local Canterbury-based building and excavation company committed to delivering high-quality workmanship on every project. The company was founded in January 2020 by Daniel Robinson, a qualified and licensed (LBP) builder with 18 years of building and civil experience.
We cover a wide range of building and excavation works, including pole sheds, small to medium renovations, LBP building works, decks, fences, site scrapes, driveways, earthworks, landscaping, and more.

What we do
Licenced building work (LBP) and general carpentry. All construction and building work from installing attic stairs, window-to-door conversions, to large-scale renovations.
From small portable tunnel houses, 2 to 4 bay pole sheds, to large American-style barns and carports - we love building high quality sheds at Southern Buildworks.
Concrete driveways, paths, and patios including hill sites. We also provide services such as digouts, site/vegetaion clearing, prep and boxing and site scrapes ready for your choice of seed or hydro grass.
Rough sawn to dressed pine gates and fences. At Southern Buildworks we custom make galv frames in house to suit the individual area.
From composite decks, Kwila, or a specific timber or material of your choice. We also specialize in stair work and are happy to do this on more challenging sites.
We love a sturdy timber pergola - these can be installed up to 30 square metres by an LBP builder without consent.
